Celebrity Dancer Mary Murphy Has Thyroid Cancer Removed

Mary Murphy returned to “So You Think You Can Dance” after a year away. She was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2007 and had the tumor removed last December. She says she’s cancer free but her vocal chords are still weak and sore.

Will she dance again? Mary said, “My body has changed dramatically…I’m still navigating the whole hormonal change thing. I would still like to exit dancing, but I just don’t think it’s going to happen this season until we situate my hormones, you know?”

Thyroid affects over 25 million of us, mostly women. Even celebrities have to dance with it!
