USING AND REUSING GLASS CONTAINERS
Toxins assault us daily, so we need to take charge as much as possible to keep them out.
Autoimmune diseases, like Hashimoto’s and Graves’ disease are triggered by toxins. So, when you can keep more and more toxins and man-made chemicals away from you and out of your body, your body can heal and work better and better for you every day.
One very simple way is to keep toxins out of your food is to use glass containers. You can read more on toxins leaching into food from old Tupperware and other plastics in my blog post about it too.
I store melon, as in the photo above, and other foods in Ball canning jars when I run out of glass bowels with snap on lids. Works just fine!

You can also just reuse jars that food has already come in. Pay once, use forever! From sauerkraut to pickles and drinks of all kinds, you can reuse these glass containers over and over and be assured you will be doing a great job at keeping plastics or other toxins from leaching into your foods, and your body.
Plus, of course, when we reuse and repurpose, we are saving the environment from more plastics, glass and other packaging in the landfill. Two birds, one stone!
Sometimes, I buy foods in jars just for the jar – it’s size, shape, distinct features – in order to reuse it again and again and enjoy looking at it too.
I’ve picked up some at garage sales for pennies and use them all the time.
