THYROID DISEASE IS KILLING US

More than 30,000,000 people in the US and 200 million worldwide have a Thyroid Disorder Most affected are women. Some estimates are over 50 million in US and over 200 million worldwide, and growing.

Estimates vary widely as most patients are misdiagnosed or undiagnosed because doctors don't know what they are looking for.

Thyroid disease is also an autoimmune disease. This means that over 27 million people have one or more of the over 105 known autoimmune diseases.

Thyroid Health – Why Your Digestive System Needs Your Full Attention

digestive system - gut
Thyroid dysfunction triggers so many things in your body, and your body (through an unhealthy diet) triggers your thyroid dysfunction. It’s a vicious cycle.

SLUGGISH DIGESTIVE SYSTEM

One thing that’s certain, in order to achieve optimal thyroid health, we need to have a well functioning digestive system. If a person is unable to digest their food properly, even the best of foods, it can lead to nutritional deficiencies; affect our immunity, as well as other systems of the body. This can worsen an existing thyroid disorder.

GET THOSE BOWELS MOVING!

A thyroid condition can lead to constipation and most people who don’t move their bowels naturally, as necessary, on a daily basis also have problems with their digestive system. It’s a vicious loop that can be fixed.

The most common problems with sluggish digestion that leads to constipation are nutritional in nature. Our SAD Diet (Standard American Diet) – which we are sharing worldwide in fast food restaurants and other processed, refined foods – is a main cause.

HOW TO GET YOUR DIGESTIVE SYSTEM BACK ON TRACK

1. Eat more whole and fiber-rich foods

Cut out refined foods (if you don’t know what the words mean on the label, it’s been refined and processed). Eat more whole foods, especially fiber-rich foods such as apples, raw nuts and seeds, plenty of fresh vegetables, etc.

2. Drink more purified water.

Work up to at least half of your body weight in ounces. For example, if you weigh 140 pounds, then you want to drink at least 70 ounces of pure water each day. Keeping well hydrated is important to prevent constipation.

3. Detox program

See a thyroid trained practitioner and have them put you on a detoxification program. Not everyone needs to go on a detoxification program, but most people can benefit from one. And rather than you try doing it on your own, it’s best to consult with an expert as you may need other supplements for support as well.

4. Supplements.

We all have general needs, but we each also have specific needs. Instead of going out and buying general supplements, or getting something advertised on TV or radio which may have no affect at all, see your thyroid trained practitioner to find out what specific nutrients, vitamins,  minerals  etc. your body is missing and supplement them to rebalance and restore your digestive health.

For more information on the Thyroid Reset Diet, see my Get Your Life Back! Manual. The Checklists and forms are invaluable as your health needs will change and keeping track of them and what your taking will really help you (especially if you have brain fog too.)

    Hi Cassandra,

    1) Fire your GP, except for those pesky, necessary blood tests. Thyroid medication is just a partial answer.

    2) Find a thyroid trained practitioner – go to my PRACTITIONERS tab on this site http://thyroidu.com/practitioners/ and find one close to you on the lists. They charge differently and probably the same as a GP but will actually help you.

If you can’t find one close, contact #1 on the list, Dr. Jared Allomong, who is my practitioner. He can work w/ you by phone/email easily. He can start to work of your current lab tests to read them correctly for your condition and move directly into your thyroid health needs.

    3) You also need to eat a Thyroid Health Rebuilding “Reset” Diet. You can start on this yourself immediately.

DIET: The diet is in my manual, see more here: http://thyroidu.com/bookstoreresources/my-thyroid-health-plan-manual/ You can buy it and refine your diet immediately. Your doctors are not trained in this so are not telling you what to do.

My good thoughts for your best health are with you,

    Kim
