THYROID DISEASE IS KILLING US

More than 30,000,000 people in the US and 200 million worldwide have a Thyroid Disorder Most affected are women. Some estimates are over 50 million in US and over 200 million worldwide, and growing.

Estimates vary widely as most patients are misdiagnosed or undiagnosed because doctors don't know what they are looking for.

Thyroid disease is also an autoimmune disease. This means that over 27 million people have one or more of the over 105 known autoimmune diseases.

Thyroid Health – Sleep and National Napping Day

sleep - nap in lawn chair

Are you getting enough sleep?

Today is Napping Day, an unofficial holiday created in 1999 by now-retired Boston University professor William Anthony and his wife, Camille, to help people adjust to Daylight Savings Time.

THYROID

When you have a thyroid condition, you may find yourself in need of lots of naps! But, not because of the everyday “healthy person” reasons. You need naps and sleep because you’re not sleeping well and your adrenal and others systems are on the fritz.

Make sure you are eating a thyroid clean diet and taking the supplements that your thyroid trained practitioner has recommended. And, take some naps! – like those healthy people do!

How much do you need?

You need plenty of undisturbed sleep to rebuild your body/biology, refresh your mind, quiet your chaotic thoughts and emotional roller coaster from the day, and re-energize.

Newborns: 12 -18 hours

Infants  (3 – 11 months): 14-15 hours

Toddlers  ( 1-3 years): 12-14 hours

Preschoolers (3-5 years): 11-13 hours

School age (5-10 years): 10-11 hours

Tweens and teens (10-17 years): 8.5 – 9.25 hours

Adults: 7-9 hours

NAPPING DAY – Nice article here to remind yourself to get your zzz’s!

WHITE NOISE – Use white noise to help you sleep soundly. I have for over 30 years.

Here’s a great example:  Pure White Noise

      Hi Dianne,

I’m so sorry for your health problems. I’ve been there too – http://thyroidu.com/about/

You’ll need to do a couple of things to rebuild your health starting immediately:

      1. DOCTOR
You’ll need to find a “thyroid trained” practitioner. Any “regular” doctor won’t have been trained or understand the depths of this condition to help you past giving you the thyroid hormone replacement medication.

If yours just says to take thyroid medication and that’s all, find a new one close to you at my site page: http://thyroidu.com/practitioners/

      2. DIET
Diet is the BIG solution that you can start right now.
You’ll need to change your diet and take the necessary supplements (from your thyroid trained practitioner) to help your symptoms reverse.

You can get started on this right away by yourself. The Thyroid Healing Diet is in my Get Your Life Back Manual plus the Checklists that will help you help your doctor help you better.

Or, my 6 Module Audio Home Study Course which has even more information.

      HAIR LOSS
Specific to hair loss. It can be caused by the wrong level of thyroid medication and other imbalances. I had hair loss especially when I was on too high a dosage of L-Thyroxine thyroid hormone replacement. I take many supplements to help rebalance my health, including Evening Primrose Oil 2000 mg/day. With the lower dosage of THR and the EPOil, my hair is much better.

You can also read this post that might be helpful:

Bottom line, if you have a thyroid condition and hair loss, it’s not just one answer, so make sure to see a thyroid trained practitioner to help you out.
