Inflammation is a very big deal. Do you hear about it on TV or the news? Yes, and no. You hear about the “symptoms” in terms of diseases and health problems every day, but not about the cause.
To understand your thyroid health needs, you need to be in the know about it and how it’s one of the core issues that is causing your health problems.
Medical science linked a growing list of diseases and health problems to inflammation, including:
- inflammatory bowel disease
- certain cancers
- other unsolvable degenerative conditions
- heart disease (more to various inflammatory conditions than to high cholesterol)
They are doing their best to come up with anti-inflammatory drugs and other cures for this inflammation.
But, what is more important than finding and “waiting” for the next magic pharmaceutical bullet (that includes a 3 minutes TV commercial to tell you how you might die from taking it!), we in the thyroid health community know that we need to take charge of this ourselves with the necessary lifestyle changes.
CAUSE BEFORE CURE
There are many causes of inflammation in the body:
- viral and bacterial infections
- a bruise
- a broken bone
- high blood pressure
- oestrogen therapy
- chronic fatigue
- dental problems
- and others
MAKE YOUR FOCUS ON THIS CAUSE FOR YOUR THYROID HEALTH
The one cause we won’t hear about on the news, because it will topple the fast food and drink industry, is the biggest offender of inflammation of all – the ingestion of sugar:
- table sugar
- brown sugar
- raw sugar
- turbinado sugar
- honey (even raw)
- maple sugar
- corn sweetener
- (and all other words that end in an “ose”)
- barley malt
- rice syrup
- liquid cane sugar
- concentrated fruit juice
- and others

SUGAR IS SUGAR
In relation to the affects on out bodies, whether a sugar is everyday or “organic”, sugar is sugar.
Every time a person eats as little as two teaspoons we can upset our body chemistry and disrupt homeostasis, the wonderful balance in the body needed for maintenance, repair and life itself.
