More than 30,000,000 people in the US and 200 million worldwide have a Thyroid Disorder Most affected are women. Some estimates are over 50 million in US and over 200 million worldwide, and growing.

Estimates vary widely as most patients are misdiagnosed or undiagnosed because doctors don't know what they are looking for.

Thyroid disease is also an autoimmune disease. This means that over 27 million people have one or more of the over 105 known autoimmune diseases.

Thyroid Health – When Everything I Eat Makes Me Bloat

For years I was always feeling bloated. And, not just feeling bloated, but even just drinking water would make my stomach enlarge. Very frustrating and uncomfortable. For years, decades, I’ve had hypothyroidism too.

What Causes Stomach Bloating

In people with no thyroid condition, it can be from water weight, allergies, salt, additives, toxins and gluten intolerance to name a few.

If you have a thyroid condition, specifically hypothyroidism, or an underactive thyroid, your thyroid fails to release an adequate amount of hormones (its otherwise healthy job.) As a result, your metabolism slows down.

Symptoms include sudden weight gain made up of both water retention and fat.

    1. Thyroid Hormone Replacement to help regulate and reset matabolism.  Synthroid, Armour, etc.
    2. A clean diet (the Thyroid Reset Diet is in my Manual and Home Study Course)
    3. Daily exercise/movement

What If I’m Still Bloating?

What if you’re doing all these things correctly and you’re still bloating? You will want to consider two gut or GI tract bacterias (though you will be able to define your specific issue by a lab or other test):

    1. Candidiasis, or candida/yeast overgrowth.

    2. Klebsiella oxytoca bacteria. I get this one periodically. My pracitioner gives me a 30 day remedy that has worked every time. I found out that this was the culprit from a lab/stool test.

Find out more on the remedies for candida here:

The supplement I take for klebsiella oxytoca bacteria is Myco Zyme. Without a lab test you won’t know which you have, or if it’s another reason completely. My practitioner uses kinesiology to muscle test me for it since I’m aware of my symptoms.

Check my list of practitioners to find one who can help you with both thyroid and issues such as this.

Hey, I emailed you a while ago but couldn’t get through.

My question is, if you are sure that your bloating after eating is not caused by gas, candida, sibo, other gut flora issues, Klebsiella, etc could it by caused solely by hypothyroidism?

    Thanks, Sean.

I am bloated (like 9 months pregnant bloated) and gasy no matter what I eat. I gave up meat, didn’t help. Gave up wheat/gluten – didn’t help (although I still won’t eat wheat gluten). The only thing that seems to not cause issues is juicing or making a smoothie. Apparently if I drink my food, I’m ok. Does that sound thyroid related?

      Hi Kat,

It could be a thyroid problem, but that’s not enough information to go by. You need some blood tests to see if you might have parasites, which cause bloating, and for food allergy testing.

You should also ask for a simple blood test to find out if you have a thyroid condition, which you want to know and start dealing with it now.

If you do have a thyroid problem, you’ll want to want to find a thyroid trained practitioner, as regular doctors and endocrinologists are not trained and are of little help.

You can find one near you here – http://thyroidu.com/practitioners/

If you can’t find one near you, please contact mine – Dr. Allomong, who is thyroid trained. He can work with you by phone/email/Skype and help you correctly lickety split!

      Dr. Jared Allomong (303) 827-3772

Also, if you do have a thyroid condition, you’ll need to start eating the thyroid healing diet.

You’ll need to start a clean diet to rebuild your body/brain health. You can start on this diet immediately by ordering my Get Your Life Back Manual. Included are numerous checklist forms to keep track of your symptoms, supplements, etc. to help your thyroid trained practitioner help you better. http://thyroidu.com/bookstoreresources/my-thyroid-health-plan-manual/

You’re in my thoughts for your best health soon,

Thyroid medication is just a partial answer.

Find a thyroid trained practitioner – go to my PRACTITIONERS tab on this site http://thyroidu.com/practitioners/ and find one close to you on the lists. They charge differently and probably the same as a GP but will actually help you.

If you can’t find one close, contact #1 on the list, Dr. Jared Allomong, who is my practitioner. He can work w/ you by phone/email easily. He can start to work of your current lab tests to read them correctly for your condition and move directly into your thyroid health needs.

DIET: You also need to eat a Thyroid Health Rebuilding “Reset” Diet. You can start on this yourself immediately.

DIET: The diet is in my manual, see more here: http://thyroidu.com/bookstoreresources/my-thyroid-health-plan-manual/ You can buy it and refine your diet immediately. Your doctors are not trained in this so are not telling you what to do.

My good thoughts for your best health are with you,
