Thyroid Friendly Cookware – Calphalon Griddle and Gluten Free Pancakes

Making fun foods, while staying thyroid healthy, can feel like a no-win battle sometimes. But you can make gluden-free pancakes or waffles and enjoy them too!

The cookware you use is as important as the food you eat.  Dump any Tephlon(R) pots and pans as they off gas toxic fumes at high temps and chip into your food.

Calphalon(R) is one of the best choices.  A bit more expensive for the big purchase, but shop around for sales. They’ll last a lifetime and are guaranteed.

Here’s a griddle from Calphalon that will work great.

Gluten-Free Pancake Mix

This is a great choice, Bob’s Red Mill.

How is it known that whatever is used to make calphelon is safe to cook with as opposed to tephlon, plain farberware, etc.?

I go with Dr. Mercola and others like him who study this stuff full time.

It’s important with any non-stick pans to keep the pan temp below about 400, so that means no broiler and no stir-frying. The toxic chemicals in non-stick pans are released when you overheat the pan. No matter the surface you can ruin the pan if you overheat it.

Wish there was more out there on the “health” of many products!
